Deal Grocer offered Hyatt Hotel's Market Cafe lunch and dinner buffet for 1080php per person. The original price of this exquisite buffet is 1800php so its already a good deal for me :)
We made reservations for 11:30am but because of the HEAVY traffic going to Malate, we arrived at Hyatt Hotel at 12:30nn whew! that's more than an hour drive and that made me sooo hungry.
I don't usually post my own pic but, OK here it goes lol |
We got a game plan on this (haha I decided to have this so called game plan because there's a lot of food so better to start right) They reserved table 2 -- nice still near the buffet table and... a couch!! my favorite
Starting off with salad. They got a salad bar and you are free to choose whatever you like. No right or wrong choices, let your heart decide what you like to eat. For my choice, green salad with carrots, dried apricots with blu cheese dressing
yes I tried to do some plating lol |
feel free to choose |
and decide |
Market Cafe got different food stations. They have meat and seafood to be grilled as per request, Chinese, Japanese and Korean food stations. I wasn't able to take pictures cause I'm only using my iphone and I'm soo busy with the food hahaha. Quoting what my sister told me, "So many food, So little time"
Not to forget their bread and cold cuts station where you can taste different types of salami, ham and cheeses.
they got olives, parma ham, grilled peppers and cheeses |
Saving the best for last, the DESSERT bar! and they got loads of it. From the local halo halo to creme brulee name it, they got it. If you venture their dessert bar from the left is the chocolate fondue, then in the middle are the crepe and choice of fillings next to it are small pastries like tarts, pies, cupcakes. In the corner are fruits if your watching your diet (come on! its a buffet remember? lol) and at the back is the ice cream bar and halohalo station.
It became my favorite part of Market Cafe. Having sweet tooth, my choices are limitless. I knew I already hit the wall and eating another batch of food sure will make me bloated. But the desire of taking in that chocolate engulfed me. Good thing I got this principle "Mind over Matter" the brain is quite powerful to give me a good diet for 2 months (yes I lost almost 7kls just by diet alone for 1 and a half months and maintain my weight for the remaining) so I can eat my last batch of food just for this day.
So believe it or not, I got the following for my dessert. First up, pastries galore!
banana tart, red velvet cupcake and leche flan with kiwi and mango slice |
my sister's choice: mango gelatin, flan and Crème brûlée which I end up eating |
pastry dipped in chocolate, slice of mango and pavlova BTW, I also ate the pastry -- im soo chocoholic! |
Who said I'll forget the crepe? Last year my sis and I went to La Creperie to taste some awesome crepe and now I got the leisure to choose what I love. I call this "the princess' love food"
Crepe filled with chocolate banana filling topped with chocolate chip and strawberry ice cream. I'm planning to ask for whip cream but its too much for me to handle. This was indeed heaven to me. After a couple of minutes, my mind is telling me to stop (Good thing my brain does that lol) It has reached its peak for sugar and better to end up the gastronomic journey and call it a day.
We ended the food frenzy with a great idea from my sister. Soda with lemon just to have a clean taste after eating all of those. I love to go back but we are planning for the themed nights where lobsters are served in the seafood counter.
soda with lemon slices |
So better reserve your seats and follow what your stomach, I mean your heart's content. To my "cheffy" sister, HAPPY BIRTHDAY!
the Birthday girl :) |
My sister is not a chef but I call her "cheffy" cause she is good in innovating food and she's really a great cook. :)
